Encinitas has that small surf town feel - but there is definitely a lot going on there. Located in San Diego County in SOCAL, about a two-hour drive south of Los Angeles, and about a 30-minute drive north from the city of San Diego. The surf breaks are pretty year-round and the locals pretty friendly - as long as your respectful.

Hansens Surf Shop was founded in the early 1970’s and its single location is the largest surf shop in the area with loyal local patrons and tourists alike. It’s founder Don Hansen is an iconic waterman/shaper and his biz is still family owned and operated. Make sure you stop by for anything you need when visiting!
